After much planning and organizing, the long awaited Charleston Nine 5K run was held today at Palmetto Island County Park. Nearly 700 runners and walkers turned out to make this event a great success. The blazing hot temperature did little to discouraged who came out to honor the 9. Congratulations and thanks to Local 61 for their hard work in making this a reality!

Charleston 9 5K Run a Big Success!
After much planning and organizing, the long awaited Charleston Nine 5K run was held today at Palmetto Island County Park. I want to thank all the volunteers for their wonderful work on Sunday at the fun run, I have ran several 5k and 10k runs including the bridge run this year and this race was by far the biggest challange for me so far,Im not sure where I finished and it doesnt matter, I had so much fun,I would have thought that this was the 10annual run, it was so organize and everything just went smooth, hats of to all you guys and guls that gave your time tom make this possible, im looking forward to next year
